Description

Not sure if this is a problem that relates to the way the app was packaged but I described it here:

http://galleryproject.org/node/112253

The problem is that in order to figure out why this does not work (moving the pictures to one of the locally mounted greyhole pool drives worked) I / the guys who want to help need to get access to the gallery. How can I establish that?

Please clarify. Gallery does not seem to play nice with Greyhole. Could be a permissions issue possibly.

When the /var location that Gallery3 stores the pictures at, i.e. on the root drive, is left where it originally is, I can upload pics with no problem and they show fine as thumbnail and in original size when I click on them. However, when I follow their guide on how to move the /var location I can still upload pics with no errors (nothing in the logs) but they do not show a thumbnail nor the original size picture.

So I described my problem to the guys in the Gallery3 forum but best would be if I could make the Gallery3 app accessible. However, when I followed the Amahi wiki guide on how to setup/ host a web site, I get the 503 error (accessing Gallery3.yourhda.com). What I need to do is to make it visible so the folks at the Gallery3 forums can understand my problem. And you too ;)

And permissions are set the same, i.e. apache:users for the old /var location under /var/hda/web-apps/gallery3/html and user:users for /mnt/samba/Pictures/var. Both locations the group "users" has rwx access.

Did you forward the port on your router?

Where did I have to set the port? In database.php under /var/hda/web-apps/gallery3/html?

Have to forward port on you router. Guidance is in the wiki for basics. Consult your router instructions for more specific details.

Oh, I have fwd port 80 and also created a CNAME record on my domain pointing to the user.yourhda.com with the appropriate server alias. Let's see if it works tomorrow...
