reinstalled a few times.
i did not realize that my monit process is sucking CPU like there is no tomorrow. this is plain nasty and we ought to put an end to it.
i think there was a bug for that part.
i have things like this in my monit log:

Wonder if this is related to #1233. I am still working a solution, but is odd that directories are removed on reboot.

no, #1233 is a separate issue altogether. completely unrelated.
