design feedback on album art
while creating the mockups, our designer pointed out that the whole artwork is greyed out.
the speculation was to make it have better contrast with the title and other metadata.
this is what it is now: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/364883/Screenshots/nh2a.png
this is what he's suggesting as an improvement: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/364883/Screenshots/npd7.png

Yes, I’ve done that for titles protection. I haven’t placed the background as you suggest because of animations. At moment music controls slide up and down while loading tracks, it gives some kind of immersive experience, with the block it would be lost. I tried to avoid it to not introduce another dark panel as well—there are the action bar and music controls already.
If you think it looks better—I can just disable animations and place the block instead of greying out.

this is hard to imagine:
"with the block it would be lost. I tried to avoid it to not introduce another dark panel as well—there are the action bar and music controls already"
so i am not sure wether that would look better or not. or if it will look anything at all like the designer suggested.
can you show what it will look like?

i do not care about it either way. there is a large picture drawing the users eyes to it, so it's not noticeable in general because it's not right in the face of the user. so i do not find it out of place.
if you want to remove it, do so. i am in favor of less work, tho and this is already implemented.
