I was using my hda yesterday and it was working fine but today, I am having problems with few share, unable to open them I have not change anything on my server for a while,but look at it with the help of cpg it look like all share the are in the Greyhole pool have stop working, I delete two shares and put them back in they worked after then looking at the /etc/samba/smb.conf

comment = Books
path = /var/hda/files/drives/drive2/books
writeable = yes
browseable = yes
create mask = 0775
force create mode = 0664
directory mask = 0775
force directory mode = 0775

dfree command = /usr/bin/greyhole-dfree
vfs objects = greyhole

all the shares that did not work had been added to the Greyhole pool

dfree command = /usr/bin/greyhole-dfree
vfs objects = greyhole

I have removed all the shares from the Greyhole pool but I do have a other backup system running anyway

I am sure other user will have this problem

Check the /var/log/greyhole.log for errors or indication of a change. We updated Greyhole to a newer version yesterday.

Is this Fedora 21? I presume since it says Amahi 8 Platform. I will have to test it on my F21 VM and see if I have similar issues.

I have put in the wrong place it is my main server and that is running Fedora release 19 (Schrödinger’s Cat) and running Amahi 7, if you need me to do more testing just let me know

Just look at the error file and the only thing is saying is this all the time

Jul 30 03:47:02 WARN initialize: Found a share (Docs) defined in /etc/greyhole.conf with no path in /etc/samba/smb.conf. Either add this share in /etc/samba/smb.conf, or remove it from /etc/greyhole.conf, then restart Greyhole.
Jul 30 03:47:02 CRITICAL initialize: Config file parsing failed. Exiting.

can not see any changes in the log file

Does the share Docs exist? Can you attach the greyhole.conf file and what your file structure looks like for /var/hda/files? Also attach the smb.conf file too.

I have no Share call docs but I may have when I first setup my server then change my mind and delete it

That is part of the issue I suspect. I presume you used the dashboard for removing and adding shares to Amahi, correct? Are the paths valid for each?

I see no shares with Greyhole enabled in the greyhole.conf file. At least one must be enabled for it to work.

I presume you are using the Greyhole UI, correct? Try enabling 1 or 2 shares, then restart Greyhole. Check the log for errors. You may need to restart samba before Greyhole to ensure it's seeing the correct shares.

Do you have mount_shares_locally running? If so, recommend you stop and disable it until this is sorted out.

Lastly, please set the assignee to me for the bug when you reply. That will send me a notification that there's something for me to read.
