VNC considered harmful
Apparently, when installing VNC on Amahi 8 it installs desktop components like Gnome and perhaps that or something else also pulls vitalization libraries which in turn initialize segments of the virt stack.
It's not clear what packages exactly pull this off, so it may well be the Gnome desktop stuff, not just VNC (which typically pulls Gnome per our previous instructions).
The stuff that it sets up includes virbr network bridges and it also, for some bizarre reason, starts services like dnsmasq that listen on those devices. This in turn prevents the system dnsmasq from running because even though the other setup runs with different config files to not interfere with the system one, it does use the same PID file, which breaks things.]
For this reason, VNC will remain disabled potentially for a while in Amahi 8 (let's please put a warning in the app page for it).
Furthermore, uninstalling VNC will not tear down all this. I put a note about the virtualization breaking DHCP/DNS in the wiki.
