I reinstalled and tested this app. It works for me. I am using 10.11.3 (updating to .4 some time soon).
I did a few tweaks to the app installer make sure that netatalk is running at the end of the process, but that seems to be the case already.
I would suggest reinstalling the app and making sure netatalk is running (no need to flood the tracker with details), and select the drive again for backups.
My client started to work on a backup just now. May be a while before it finishes, but so far it has done like like 5% of the backup without complaining.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled as well and still cannot see Time Machine as an option when trying to select the drive in time machine preferences. Netatalk and avahi are running.

you can try to open the following server address (command-k while in the finder): afp://hda
it may help recognize the server.
my first full backup completed successfully.

Ok using cmd + k got me to allow afp://hda manually. before this it would not show as an option automatically like the app did before.
Did it show automatically for you or no?

- Status changed from Feedback to Closed
- Assignee set to cpg
it was recognized automatically for me and at least two other users.
