Description

Fresh install of Amahi 9 on new F23 install. No other apps except qBittorrent, Network Time, Disk Stats, and Plex Media Center (plexpass manual install).

Similar to Bug 1565 (https://bugs.amahi.org/issues/1565)

Excerpt from Lines 11 - 14 of /etc/init.d/calibre

#Edit the variables to suit your file locations
EXE="/usr/bin/calibre-server"
INI="--with-library /var/hda/files/calibre -p 8095 --daemonize --auto-reload --pidfile /var/run/calibre.pid"
PID="/var/run/calibre.pid"

I have also tried editing in a missing "=" from line 13 adjusting it to INI="--with-library=/var/hda/files/calibre -p 8095 --daemonize --auto-reload --pidfile /var/run/calibre.pid" to no avail.

Running calibredb in any way produces an error:

[root@hda calibre]# calibredb list

sys.exit(main())

return command(args[2:], dbpath)
File "/usr/lib64/calibre/calibre/library/cli.py", line 221, in command_list
db = get_db(dbpath, opts)
File "/usr/lib64/calibre/calibre/library/cli.py", line 67, in get_db
raise ValueError('No saved library path, either run the GUI or use the'
ValueError: No saved library path, either run the GUI or use the --with-library option

No content is shown in the webui of the application:

The library location is indeed populated with content, but cannot be added to the database because Calibre doesn't know its library path:

[root@hda calibre]# calibredb check_library
No library found at None

This app is badly broken and will need extensive research to fix. Calibre is not designed to be installed on a headless server, but can function as such with some work.

It will be some time before we can sort this out. Recommend you uninstall and monitor this bug for progress.

Until then, we will move it back to BETA.

Anything I can do to help? Definitely not a pro at bundling/prepping apps, but I wouldn't mind learning.

Will do. Thanks bigfoot65.

Looks like it will require an overhaul. Will have to run a cron job to pick up new ebooks. They have to be added via command line. Since it was designed as a desktop app, it's not as simple for headless.

Not sure when I will get to it, but will keep this bug updated on progress.
