Description

If an HDA is installed with a gateway of x.x.x.1, the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ens18 lists it as:

GATEWAY=x.x.x.1

If after the initial install, a user needs to change the Gateway to x.x.x.2 on the HDA using the Dashboard option under Network -> Settings has no affect on the file above.

It appears this feature only affects the HDA DHCP server, not the actual HDA network device. The Gateway has to be manually changed and the network restarted or HDA rebooted.

If this feature is not designed to change the HDA network Gateway, recommend it's identified somehow on the Dashboard.
Changing the network Gateway for an HDA is a two step process if using the HDA for DHCP.
  • Manually make the change in ifcfg-ens18_
  • Change the Dashboard Gateway setting

Also, does changing the network Gateway require a change to the HDA profile on amahi.org? If so, that would need to be identified as well.

This is still an issue in Amahi.

Wiki guidance was updated to indicate such.

Recommend it be fixed in Amahi 12 or removed from the dashboard as an option.
