Bug #2389
Express CD Issues
0%
Description
There is an issue with Webmin RPM installation and the Express CD.
The OS is identified as “Generic release 27 (Generic)” in the following files: /etc/os-release, /etc/redhat-release, and /etc/system-release-cpe.
Since it’s not identified as Fedora, the RPM won’t install. This could affect other apps.
The work around is to set the OS to match the minimal install CD or full DVD.

Fedora 27 normal install media reflects:
Fedora release 27 (Twenty Seven)

Changing Generic release 27 (Generic) to Fedora release 27 (Twenty Seven) in /etc/redhat-release should correct the issue.

Users often do not have successful installs.
Some have stated it freezes up and nothing happens for hours. They finally terminate the install.
Others have stated it does not work well from USB. Although we don't support USB, the Fedora 27 CD and DVD don't have that issue.
The hard drive partitioning does not always work correctly. Some users have reported large /home partitions.
All in all, the custom DVD with Amahi preinstalled does not speed up the install process. Most users have had to reinstall with the Fedora 27 CD or DVD.
