Description

It would be useful to be able to configure the server to connect to the Internet via a proxy server. I have tried setting the environment variables http_proxy and https_proxy in /etc/profile but it seems that these are not used. The result is that, if users are forced to use a proxy server by ports 80 and 443 being blocked in the firewall, it is not possible to install applications.

I'm not a Ruby programmer but it looks as the way to connect with a proxy is to simply replace

Net::HTTP

with

Net::HTTP::Proxy(proxy_addr, proxy_port, proxy_user = xxx, proxy_pass = xxx)

The documentation I found says that if proxy_add is nil it will behave the same as Net::HTTP, ie connecting without a proxy.
