Description

Installed Amahi as per wiki. Downloaded no updates during install. Then installed Amahi.

Amahi is dishing out DHCP leases as tested by turning off the DCHP on router.

Checking the output of ls -l on /var/lib/dhcp/

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 25 17:04 dhclient.leases
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhcpd dhcpd 4609 Sep 24 19:25 dhcpd.leases
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhcpd dhcpd 4200 Sep 24 19:02 dhcpd.leases~

Leases are being shown in the files themselves, but no leases show up in dashboard.

Can you share the file

dhcpd.leases
?

Attaching it here in the bug would be perfect.

Hi, all files in dhcp folder attached. Many thanks

Actually, can you remove the reference to the dhclient one please.

i did a quick test and i see that the leases file can be parsed just fine, so it may not be the parser as i was thinking it might.

I have installed amahi on Ubuntu after using amahi on Fedora for 2 years. The dhcp appears to all be working OK including the static IP address options but the dhcp leases do not show on the dashboard. Sounds the same as what's being discussed.

I have been looking into this and based on what other uses have said I have managed to get some data displayed on the dashboard. To get some data displayed I made a new directory \var\lib\dhcp3 and within this directory made a link to \var\lib\dhcp\dhcp.leases. This did work, it did update but has only created a sanpshot from the time I created this link.

Hope this helps and I can test and provide more info if necessary.

Thanks Tom

After updating to 6.2, I still had the issue. So seeing as I had a few other bits I wanted to change I decided to do a clean install. Same issue. Its dolling out leases but not displaying them, just to keep you updated.

fixing the path to the current DHCP leases file in Ubuntu. commit:9f9f86a3b closes #976 (thanks for cmfisher4)

Reopening this bug as the issue has come back. It appears that 12.04.1 does not have the lease file stored in /var/lib/dhcp3. It is in /var/lib/dhcp and called dhcpd.leases.

A simple work around is to do the following:

sudo mkdir dhcp3
sudo ln -s /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases /var/lib/dhcp3/dhcpd.leases

here is a deb to test the fix. please report back how well it works for you:

 wget http://alpha.amahi.org/tmp/hda-platform_6.2.1_all.deb
 apt-get install hda-platform_6.2.1_all.deb
